Plan a Visit!

The best way to get a sense of our community is to visit us on a Sunday morning.  We meet for worship every Sunday at 9:45 a.m.

You are welcome as you are, with all the experiences, identities, and questions that you bring.

Rev. Hannah BrownPastor

What to Expect on Your First Visit

Arrive at church

Our church is located at 1317 Main Street (the intersection of Main and Pine streets) in West Concord, within easy walking distance of the West Concord train station. If you come by car, you can park on Pine Street or on one of the residential streets nearby. If you prefer to cycle to church, you may lock your bike to the rack in our Welcome Garden on Pine Street.

Come on in

Please come in via our main entrance on Pine Street. You may use the elevator or the stairs to access the sanctuary on the main level of the church.

Sit anywhere you like

As you enter the sanctuary, ushers will give you a bulletin that describes what will happen during the service and invite you to sit anywhere you like.  They can also direct you to spots reserved for wheelchairs.

Children are most welcome

There are books, art materials, fidgets, and toys available in the hallway outside the sanctuary to keep kids occupied in their seats. Most Sundays, children will go downstairs for Sunday School after the first hymn. On All Ages Sundays (usually the first Sunday of each month, September through June) children stay in worship, where there are stations for them to engage in quiet activities.

Enjoy

Please participate in worship however it is comfortable to you. We hope that your time worshipping with us will reassure you of God’s love for you and refresh you for the week ahead.

Frequently Asked Questions

I've never been to church before. Am I welcome?

Yes! We are an inclusive, creative Christian community that welcomes folks of all ages, identities, and abilities.

How will I know what to do during a service?

The ushers will provide you with a program that outlines each element of the worship service for that Sunday.

What should I wear?

We are an informal congregation, so you will see us wearing everything from jeans to “Sunday best.”

What time does the service start?

Our service starts at 9:45 a.m.

Where should I park?

The church does not have a parking lot, so you should park along Pine Street or on one of the residential streets nearby.

Is your building physically accessible?

Yes. There are two accessible parking spaces right by the main entrance on Pine Street. Our Pine Street entrance has automatic doors, and an elevator provides access to all three levels. The sanctuary has a ramp for the raised surface and room for wheelchairs throughout the seating area.

What about other accessibility needs?

In the sanctuary, we have induction loop hearing assist devices.  We have noise-cancelling headphones and fidgets in the hallway by the sanctuary. The words for worship can be accessed with a 14-pt bulletin, downloaded as a PDF on your device, or visible in large type on a screen at the front. Please contact us if you have additional accessibility questions. We hope to be able to meet your needs.

Do I have to bring money for an offering?

No. If you would like to donate, there is an offering box at the rear of the sanctuary, or you can use Venmo or Paypal.

Do you have Sunday School for kids?

Yes! There is nursery care for babies and children up to age 5.  From September to mid-June, there is a multi-age Sunday School for those ages 5 to 12; Youth classes for ages 13-18 meet twice a month during worship. Please ask an usher for help if you are hoping that your child can participate.

Can I take communion?

Yes, all are invited, without exception.  It is fine to abstain.

Where are the restrooms?

There is one restroom on the main (sanctuary) level and two more on the lower level across from the Fellowship Hall. Each is single-use and open to all.
